So, Who Am I and Why Should 
You Even Listen?
Because I’ve been where you are now.
First, I grew up fairly poor. So, when I decided to become a chiropractors I wanted two things…
1.   I wanted to change peoples lives with chiropractic

2.   I was determined to succeed financially so I could give my family the things I didn’t have growing up.
I started my first practice in 2001… and for the first few years I struggled hard.

I drove an old beater truck… struggled to make payroll… and was late on my rent more times than I’d like to admit.

I made a ton of mistakes… but I worked my rear off trying to learn everything I could about business…

And finally it paid off and I built my first practice to over $1 million.

✅   I got a brand new truck
✅   I bought my wife her dream home
✅   And we built a second home at the lake
✅  I even got my pilots license and co-owned an airplane
But… I almost lost it all! 
Because, BCBS took $177,000 back from me overnight and I almost went bankrupt (I’ll tell you more about that in a bit).

This forced me to rethink everything…
It forced me to look for a new way…
And what I learned changed my practice and my life forever!

Fast forward 7 years…
I now have 5 practices in 4 different states.

Collectively, they do $4,500,000 in cash-based revenue… no insurance collections.
So, my point is this... 
I’ve been on both sides… broke and wealthy.

I’ve struggled to make payroll and pay my mortgage.

I’ve wasted so much time & money on “the next big thing”.

I’ve been sold “crap” by advertising & marketing gurus.

So, How Did I Figure Out the 3 Secrets?
Let’s go back to how I lost $177,000 overnight...
Long story short BCBS claimed that because my PT and I had both seen the same patients on the same days that is was duel billing.

So, everything I had built and the reserves I had in the bank were all gone.

I had to pull from my personal savings to make payroll that next friday.

I started the process of appealing it with BCBS… But realized that really wouldn’t solve anything…   

As they say… don’t bite the hand that feeds you, right?! 
This is when I remembered the definition of insanity… doing the same thing but expecting a different result. 
I knew something had to change…
I had to do something different…
or I would be stuck on this hamster wheel of insurance.

I needed to create cash pay services...
But how could I sell cash services and also be a provider?
That became my million dollar question!
(literally a million dollar question)
My search for answers led me to something called the “Blue Ocean Strategy” from a book published in 2004.
I won’t go into all the details but the one thing jump out at me:
Customers will pay a premium for things they believe they can’t get anywhere else.
So, I started asking myself two questions…
  •  What could I sell that was not covered by insurance?
  •  What was different than what patients could get from any other chiropractor in town?
That’s when it hit me…
What if it wasn’t a single product or service but a complete treatment program that patients could only get at my practice!
Kind of like…

The P90x fitness program!

The reality is any trainer at any gym could use the exact same equipment and teach you the exact same exercises and nutrition that P90x uses.
But it’s not the equipment or exercises that makes P90x unique…
It’s the way P90x combines…
certain exercises together,
on alternating days,
with a certain amount of rest between sets (protocols),
followed by specific nutrition…
all to get a specific outcome!

You cannot get it anywhere else… aka “exclusive”

Boom - that was my "ah-ha" moment
and the start of CoreCare!
Within a month I was selling my first program… “CoreCare”.

So what is CoreCare?

CoreCare is a treatment program I created for chronic pain conditions.

It combines chiropractic with active therapies, rehabilitation, some DME’s and nutrition supplements.

All things that any Chiro can sell, right?

But it’s not the equipment, therapies or products that make CoreCare unique…
It’s how I package them together…
It’s the specific protocols I created…
It’s how all those things work together to fix the cause of pain...
It’s the fact that it’s only available at my clinic.

See, packaging also "un-commoditizes" a physical product or service that people can get elsewhere.

Sure they can maybe get the main thing from someone else...

Now, I wish I could say that I hit a homerun on my first attempt… but I didn’t.

It took several months of trial and error to figure out the right mix of therapies and protocols to get the best results.

And most importantly patients were getting amazing results.

I didn’t abandon insurance and make a switch to 100% cash.

I was still a provider and still billing covered services.

And best of all… insurance couldn’t take away!
You can’t imagine the peace of mind I had every night when I went to bed knowing that cash was there!

I would go through all the crazy frustrating stuff again if it meant keeping the time I have with my family.
